62 Casanova Restaurant in George Town offers a captivating culinary experience that seamlessly combines the charm of its historic setting with exquisite Italian cuisine. Nestled in the heart of George Town, this restaurant is a gem for both locals and visitors seeking an authentic taste of Italy.
The ambiance at Casanova is nothing short of enchanting. The restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored heritage building, boasting an intimate and romantic atmosphere. Soft lighting, rustic decor, and attentive service create a welcoming environment that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience.
The menu at Casanova is a culinary journey through the diverse regions of Italy. From traditional pasta dishes like handmade fettuccine Alfredo to innovative seafood creations, each plate is a work of art. The chefs showcase a commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients, delivering flavors that are both rich and nuanced.
Standout dishes include the Osso Buco, a Milanese specialty featuring braised veal shanks, and the Risotto Frutti di Mare, a delightful seafood risotto that captures the essence of coastal Italian cuisine. The menu also caters to various dietary preferences, offering a range of vegetarian and gluten-free options without compromising on taste.
The wine list complements the culinary offerings, featuring a curated selection of Italian wines that enhance the overall dining experience. Knowledgeable staff members are readily available to assist with pairings, ensuring that each sip enhances the flavors of the meal.
While Casanova Restaurant may lean towards the upscale side, the quality of the dining experience justifies the price point. Whether celebrating a special occasion or indulging in a romantic evening, Casanova's blend of ambiance, service, and culinary excellence makes it a standout destination in George Town's vibrant gastronomic scene.
The food at Casanovas is amazing. When traveling, our rule is that we don’t eat at the same restaurant twice. We had to make an exception here. Our party had the Lasagna Tipica, Crespela Casanova, Pasta All’ Aragosta, Shrimp Alfredo, and Pasta Carbonara. Try to sit on the patio to watch the amazing sunset. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was the best of the four we tried on the island. And definitely take them up on their offer of Lemoncello after dinner, it’s the perfect digestivo to end your evening.
This fun and family owned Italian restaurant always provides consistent quality food and service. It is a stop every time we are on island. Dining can occur outside or inside at this two level restaurant. It is open daily, even holidays. Prices are fair and the meals are consistent through the menu. This is a busy place but you never feel rushed. Dress is casual and parking is across the street down a small alley. Follow the signs.
It's hard to imagine that a restaurant with such delicious pasta could serve such poor quality steaks.
Great food. The waiters were very busy so they sounded a little rude but over all was good
Wonderful experience. So happy my wife suggested we dine at Cassanova's. Fantastic outdoors dining. White linen tablecloth dining. Excellent service. Mouthwatering dishes. The best ice-tea I have ever tasted. Cannot wait until next time.
I absolutely LOVED this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the view was amazing. I can not wait to return.
Casanova Restaurant is nestled in an exquisite location near the waterfront, providing diners with scenic views that greatly enhance the dining experience. The establishment opts for a fancier take on traditional taverna style, though the decor appears slightly dated, casting a somewhat dingy ambiance. However, don't let this minor detail dissuade you. The culinary offerings shine in spite of this, with quality ingredients that clearly display their dedication to authentic Italian fare. The pizza, albeit perhaps slightly overzealous with oil, is a decadent indulgence that surely won't disappoint. The overall vibe leans more towards the rustic side, but it's a small price to pay for the delicious cuisine. Casanova Restaurant, therefore, presents itself as a reasonably good choice for Italian food enthusiasts looking for a centrally located eatery. This little corner of Italy, by the sea, merits a solid 4 stars.
We ordered the Insalata Caprese and Carbonara. A proper mozzarella should be a balance of richness, creaminess, soft and milky. It tasted a little rubbery, and it could definitely use more basil, salt and pepper.
Great service, food was good as well. Would’ve loved some more Italian options. Good dinner place and atmosphere. Definitely would visit again
It was a great experience, we went for lunch here, I had the carbinara and it was great.my wife had the chicken parm which was also very good. It was not that busy at the time and got to know the waiter who was very friendly and treated us like royalty. Thanks Bajo
It’s taken me a while to do this review, but Casanova has not left my mind since I went in Sept 2022! We had lunch while off board our cruise. Excellent FRESH food and service. I needed good Italian comfort food in that moment and I got it. If we ever find ourselves back at Grand Cayman, we will certainly be paying a visit back.
Food was good, location awesome.
What I didn't like is the outrageous way the owner took advantage and gave us a bill in US$ with an exchange rate as he pleased. In what world 32 Cayman$$ equals to 50 US$$?
I recommend having local currency if you don't want to be abused.
We booked for a group of nine at 6pm waterfront view to watch the beautiful sunset but when we arrived at the restaurant we was seated at the very end with no good view of the sunset at all.requested to be move but was told other seating are for more people. Then turn out the seats in front of us for 12 persons was not reserved for 12 at all but for 6 only. Felt they are racist and unaccommodating.
And forgot about us couple of times, I would not recommend the place.if you are looking for good customer service you wont find it here. There are other restaurants in island that offer much better customer service than them.
Food was ok nothing special but service atrocious and packed in restaurant like sardines, after waiting around 20 mins for additional drinks ordered twice and that never arrived, the bill was thrown on table without being requested, with a 15% service charged added, will not be returning.
Never would have thought that I would have the best pizza I have ever had in my life whilst visiting Grand Cayman. Food and atmosphere top tier, a must try while visiting.
I came here on an outing on my vacation! It was a memorable experience, there were 12 of us and we all ordered different things. I personally had the minestrone soup and the mushroom pasta, both were amazing! The cheesecake was super authentic and the staff was great! Next time I travel to Cayman I will be making sure to stop by! ️️
We were looking for a new restaurant with outside dining. Glad we went.
It was outstanding. The wait staff were extremely attentive and helpful.
Food was outstanding. Highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again this week and in the future.
After a mid-day downpour that took our day off-course, we were again changing our plans when we saw that the fish restaurant we were going to dine at had recently permanently closed. After a little walking and online research we found ourselves at Casanova. I normally don't eat heavier Italian food during the lunch hour, however, we were more than just pleasantly surprised. The homemade pasta was wonderful, the fish was fresh and the desserts were made in-house that morning! Even on a gloomy afternoon the covered patio was a lovely location to dine. When my teenage daughter sent her compliments to the chef, she was invited back to the kitchen to tell him herself and soon afterwards she returned to the table with the chef alongside of her to greet the rest of us! We thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with the chef along with the food and service. I highly recommend it!
Food was classic Italian and the atmosphere was family oriented. The view of sunset was unmatched. Service was friendly and the tiramisu was on point!
